How Lesli Berggren Honours the Beautiful Memory of Her Son, Nils
Lesli Berggren, founder of LOVE, NILS, shares about her charity’s
motivations and activities.
A charity founded by a mum who lost her son to complications from cancer, launched
this campaign in conjunction with International Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
Following its great success last year, the aim of the ‘Shine a Light on Childhood Cancer’
campaign is to raise awareness and funds for children and their families who struggle
with a cancer diagnosis.
Two lucky and very gleeful little ones got to fly with iFly on June 17. Aleesha Syed Faizal
and Violette Chong, both cancer survivors and beneficiaries of LOVE, NILS, took turns
to have the time of their lives under the watchful eye and guidance of iFly Singapore’s
instructors.
In the isolating battle against cancer, a community can provide families with necessary
support to cope with difficult challenges, and to celebrate the happy moments
together. The social connections that come with community relationships give
rewarding perspectives that help strengthen families through the cancer journey.
